    Abstract
This thesis investigates the kinds and realization of appreciation devices in the political party declaration speeches for the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Candidates. The research paradigm used in the study is descriptive qualitative research method and utilizes discourse analysis and Martin and White’s (2005) Appraisal Theory framework. The aim is to identify the types of appreciation devices and their realization in the speeches, focusing on their strategic use to influence voter perception. The analysis revealed that positive reactions are the most frequently used appreciation device, with 64% in Candidate No. 2's speeches, 61% in Candidate No. 3's, and 53% in Candidate No. 1's. These reactions, including expressions of gratitude, respect, and admiration, help foster unity and positive emotional connections with the audience. Positive valuation and composition were also identified, though less frequently, highlighting the candidates' competencies and structured approaches. The findings suggest that political parties can benefit from emphasizing positive messaging to build support and shape voter behavior. Future research should explore the impact of digital media on these devices and consider a balanced approach in political rhetoric, incorporating both positive and constructive negative messaging.
