School as an educational institution must be a safe and comfortable place for adolescents. The belief in a sense of acceptance by the school environment (School connectedness) can ensure a sense of secure for adolescents, which provides good motivation for adolescents to behave and face difficulties in their lives (Adversity quotient). Adolescents in the coastal city of Sibolga are not only faced with difficulties due to the demands of academic, non-academic and social environments, but also faced with the demands to participate in earning a living, and bear the burden of household life. For this reason, it becomes very important for a teenager, especially a teenager who lives in a coastal area to have an Adversity quotient (AQ). This study is a correlational study and aims to find out the relationship between School connectedness and Adversity quotient in adolescents in coastal Sibolga City. The sample of this study was 100 adolescents in the coastal city of Sibolga in the age range of 13-18 years who were studying at Junior High School and Senior High School. This study uses the School connectedness scale and the Adversity quotient scale as measuring instruments. The results of this study showed a p value = .000 (p < .05) and a correlation coefficient (r) of .367, so this study found a positive relationship between School connectedness and Adversity quotient in adolescents in coastal Sibolga City.en_US
