The Overview of Thesis Students Happiness at The University of North Sumatra

Happiness is a psychological condition that individuals can feel when there are no negative emotions in life, such as anxiety, depression, etc., but instead, show cheerfulness, as well as optimism, appreciate themselves as they are, and focus more on seeing the positive side of life rather than focusing on the negative. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing what the happiness of thesis students at the University of North Sumatra is like. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods with multistage cluster sampling techniques. The sample in this study amounted to 902 thesis students at the University of North Sumatra consisting of seven faculties with three study programs in one of the faculties. The measuring instrument in this study used the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ) by Hills & Argyle which has been adapted into Indonesian by Rahmawati et al. The data analysis method used in this study is descriptive analysis which shows that 84.3% of thesis students at the University of North Sumatra have an average of high happiness.
