dc.description.abstract | Corn is a potential crop to be developed, and during its growth period it is often disturbed by insect pests. The level of attack and diversity of insect pests is influenced by the age of the corn plants and air temperature. This study aims to analyze the types, value of diversity, uniformity, similarity of insect pests and factors that influence the diversity of insect pests in corn plants, the vegetative period is 25 HST and the generative age is 60 HST. The determination of sampling done by using the Purposive Sampling method while the insect pests sampling was done by using the Yellow Sticky Trap. Research conducted in UPT Benih Induk Palawija dan Holtikultura Tanjung Selamat, Deli Serdang Regency. The results showed that 7 species were planted at 60 days and 3 species at 25 days. The highest density of insect pests was at the age of 60 days with a total density value of 61,44 individuals/2m2, and the lowest was obtained at the age of 30 days with a total density value of 49,38 individuals/2m2. The highest diversity index value of insect pests at the age of 60 days was 1,283, while the lowest value at 25 days was 0,652. The highest uniformity index value was at the age of 60 days was 0,659, and the lowest value at 25 days was 0,593. The index value of the similarity of the types of insect pests in the two research periods was 60% belonging to the relatively the same category. | en_US |
