    Abstract
    This study examines the use of Rere Ma Na Rere and Pancur Paridian songs in the Boru Paborhatkon event at the Angkola community wedding party in Sipirok district, South Tapanuli district. The focus of the research is on musical analysis and the function of music in the local cultural context. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection through observations and interviews. Musical analysis uses the theory of theory and method in ethnomusicology,, while musical function analysis uses and function. The results show that both songs have several functions, including marking weddings, a means of spreading talent, and a communication medium. Musical analysis revealed the characteristics of both tracks, including the use of tone scales, rhythm patterns, melody structure, and intervals. The Rere Ma Na Rere uses the base tone A with a total of 590 tones, while the Paridian Pancake uses the basic tone F with 434 tones total. Both tracks show iterative and repetitive repetitions in the structure of the melodies. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of music in the context of Angolan culture and its role in traditional wedding ceremonies.
