Perancangan Museum Kereta Api Pulo Brayan

Abstract

The Pulo Brayan Railway area is a historical area that is quite interesting. This area holds a lot of railroad history in Medan City. Many heritage buildings are quite good, but some have become very neglected, leaving a negative impression on the area. The implementation of the station as a goods loading station is also one of the causes of reduced public interest in visiting. To address this, this design is an effort to revive the image of the area and an effort to educate the public about the importance of the history of railways in the city of Medan. Place-making is one of the concepts used to revive public space in this area. By forming a public space that facilitates social interaction, it can attract people's interest in recreation and learning. By adding the function of the Railway Museum, it is considered capable of increasing historical awareness among the public and creating a transparent public space between the present and the past.
