Identification of Several Local Gogo Rice Cultivars (Oryza sativa L.) from Padang Lawas Regency Based on Nutritional Content Values
Abstract
Rice is a very important food crop in Indonesia and even in the world after
wheat and corn. As an important element in the body, nutrition or nutrients play an
important role in the lives of living creatures. Nutritional needs can help in daily
activities because nutrition is also a source of energy needed by various organs in
the body as well as a source of building and regulating substances in the body. This
research aims to determine the appearance of the nutritional content
characteristics of several local gogo rice cultivars from Padang Lawas Regency by
observing the values of water content, fat content, ash content, protein,
carbohydrates, crude fiber, anthocyanin and amylose. This research was carried
out at the Medan Industrial Research and Standardization Laboratory and the
Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara
from November to December 2023. This research used a descriptive experimental
method which was analyzed using simple statistics to see genetic diversity. The
research results show that local gogo rice from Padang Lawas Regency has varying
nutritional content in its various cultivars.
