The Effect of Variations in Rotational Speed and Humidity of Rice Straw on the Performance of Rice Straw Chopper
Abstract
The portion of the rice plant that is left over after the grains are harvested and separated is known as rice straw. With the global population growth and increasing demand for food production, enhancing efficiency in the agricultural sector is crucial. Efficient rice straw management can be a step towards improving productivity and managing resources sourced from agricultural biomass. The purpose of this study is to investigate how changes in the rotational speed and humidity of rice straw affect the factors that affect economic analysis, fuel consumption, percentage of chopped material, and effective tool capacity. Three rotational speed treatments were employed in this study using a factorial Completely Randomised Design (CRD) technique. V1 had a rotational speed between 2200 and 2300 rpm,V2 at 2400 rpm - 2500 rpm, and V3 at 2600 rpm - 2700 rpm, and three moisture content treatments: K1 at 10%-15%, K2 at 16%-20%, and K3 at 21%-25%. The highest effective equipment capacity was found in treatment V3K3 at 10,610 kg/hour. The highest percentage of shredded material was observed in treatment V3K3 at 82.8%, while the highest percentage of residue was in treatment V2K1 at 20.1%. The highest fuel consumption was recorded in treatment V1K1 at 1.755 l/hour.
