dc.description.abstract | Power Divider is an crucial component in radio wave communication technology which
is often used to divide signals or make signal connections. There are many types of Power
Dividers starting from their development, but some Power dividers have weakness, such
as the output value of each port being inappropriate, not having good isolation, and the
dimensions being quite large. The Wilkinson power divider is a power divider that has
low losses, produces an appropriate port output value, and also has the same signal
division ratio at 3dB. In general, Wilkinson power dividers are quite large in size and are
built with microstrip technique transmission lines. Multilayer coplanar waveguide
(CPW) is a technology that can produce transmission channels with lower loss and a
more compact size. In this research, power divider modelling was carried out using the
Wilkinson Power Divider design and utilizing multilayer coplanar waveguide (CPW)
technology for monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) technology application.
This modelling produce a Wilkison power divider with a more compact size, and work
well at the 24 GHz frequency. The modelled Wilkinson power divider obtained good
agreement in scattering parameter (S-parameter) results with a return loss of -20.59 dB,
isolation of -19.67 dB, and with an insertion loss on both output ports of -3.3 dB at a
frequency of 24 GHz. The Amplitude and phase balance obtained also have good values,
namely 0.063 dB and 0.2 (degree), at a working frequency of 24 GHz. | en_US |
