    Abstract
This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Barium Hexaferrite and iron sand as microwave absorbing materials, their effects on microwave absorption properties, and the frequency range of waves produced by the material. The research method used is the solid reaction method, with a calcination temperature of 1000ºC for 2 hours. This study focuses on the effect of mass variations with variations in iron sand and barium hexaferrite ((16gr)4:1(4gr), 1(10gr):1(10gr), and 1(4 gr):4(16 gr)). The crystal size of the samples in this study is the Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 (4:1) samples, namely 0.4265μm, the Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 (1:1) The results of this study indicate that the mixing of iron sand and barium hexaferrite produces a single phase material. In the single material phase is shown through X-ray diffraction pattern data, namely iron sand and barium hexaferrite, namely hematite and barium hexaferrite. These results are supported by SEM-EDX analysis, which obtains the values of the forming wavelength, material morphology and elements contained in iron sand and barium hexaferrite. This indicates that the characterization of the particle diameter size is almost uniform in the Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 samples with an average of ± 0.06511 μm. SEM testing was carried out on Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 samples, the best of which was the sample with a mass ratio of Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 (4:1). Iron sand and barium hexaferrite materials were characterized using EDS which showed a composition close to stoichiometry. Observations using VNA showed Fe2O3 dan BaFe12O19 (4:1) materials were able to absorb electromagnetic waves at a radar wave frequency of 11.1 GHz, which was - 25.64 dB.
