The Effect of Person-Organization Fit, Work Life Balance, and Emotional Intelligence on Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Employees at PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi Sumatera Utara’s Headquarter
Abstract
Organizational citizenship behavior is very necessary in all companies, especially
for companies that provide public services such as PDAM TirtanadiProvinsi
Sumatera Utara. Organizational citizenship behavior is an individual behavior that
exceeds the demands of a role in the workplace. This organizational citizenship
behavior is expected to be carried out by all employees. Therefore it is very
important to examine organizational citizenship behavior because it is able to
improve the quality of employee services so that it will have an impact on
improving the work quality of employees at PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi Sumatera
Utara’s Headquarter. The purpose of the research is to find out and analyze the
effect of person-organization fit, work life balance, and emotional intelligence on
organizational citizenship behavior of employees at PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi
Sumatera Utara’s Headquarter. The type of research used is associative research.
The population of this research is 408 permanent employees of PDAM Tirtanadi
Provinsi Sumatera Utara’s Headquarter. The sample in this study amounted to 81
employees using the proportional cluster random sampling method. Data
collection is done through distributing questionnaires to permanent employees of
PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi Sumatera Utara’s Headquarter. The data analysis
technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis,
namely by multiple linear regression. The results showed that partially the personorganization
fit has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship
behavior. Work life balance partially has a positive and significant effect on
organizational citizenship behavior. Emotional intelligence has a positive and
significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. The variable that most
dominantly influences organizational citizenship behavior is emotional
intelligence. Simultaneously it shows that person-organization fit, work life
balance, and emotional intelligence have a significant effect on organizational
citizenship behavior of employees of PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi Sumatera
Utara’s Headquarter.
