    Abstract
This research discusses the value of bushido shown by the ronin and the social conditions of society in the Edo era in the novel 47 Ronin. The purpose of this research is to describe the bushido value of the ronin and the social condition of Japanese society in the Edo era. The theories used in this research are sociology of literature theory, ideology theory, and social condition theory. The research method used is qualitative descriptive by focusing on documentation studies. The results of this study found that the ronin showed the value of bushido such as the integrity of the Asano character towards the rejection of gratuities. The courage of Oishi's character when fighting with Kira. The virtues of the ronin and Asano obeyed the Law of Life Preservation even though they did not like it. Oishi's politeness towards Toda during the discussion. Oishi's honesty to his comrades when committing immorality while in Kyoto. Honor from Asano and his soldiers who do my best to uphold virtue. Lastly, the loyalty of the ronins to Asano. The results of the study also show that the state of Japan society in the Edo period, namely the adverse impact of the Life Preservation Law on the lives of farmers, tanners, snare installers, and hunters such as hunger, declining income, and even the sale of girls as commercial sex workers, the enactment of isolation politics made Japan conservative and closed. During Tsunayoshi's time, culture flourished, and Kyoto became the center of culture and art. A popular art is geisha.
