Human resources are required to have a competitive advantage in an effort
to support the continuity of optimal company performance. The behavior that is
demanded by the company today is not only in-role behavior or work according to
job description, but also extra-role where the extra contribution to completing work
from the company is known as Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB).
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of work motivation and
job satisfaction on OCB in employees of the Human Resources Division of PT Bank
Sumut Head Office in Medan. The influence between work motivation and job
satisfaction will be analyzed partially and simultaneously on OCB.
The form of research used in this study is quantitative research with an
associative approach. Sampling was carried out through a saturated sampling
technique using 31 respondents as a sample. The primary data used in this study
was obtained by distributing questionnaires directly to employees while secondary
data was obtained through literature studies. The data analysis techniques used are
validity test and reliability test. The data analysis methods used are classical
assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis tests.
The results showed that the work motivation variable (X1) had a positive
and significant effect on OCB (Y) with a tvalue of 3.213 > 2.048 with a significance
value of 0.003 < 0.05. The job satisfaction variable (X2) had a positive and
significant effect on OCB (Y) with a tvalue of 2.611 > 2.048 with a significance value
of 0.014 < 0.05. In the simultaneous test (together), it was shown that the variables
of job motivation and job satisfaction had a simultaneous effect on organizational
citizenship behavior with an influence level of 37.1% while the remaining 62.9% is
influenced by other factors outside this study.
