    Abstract
Osteoarthritis is one of the chronic diseases, indicated by damage in meniscus, cartilage, synovial tissue, tendon/ligament, and muscle which all mean joint failure. Osteoarthritis can cause the decrease in range of motion and life quality. The objective of the research is to evaluate the correlation between range of motion and life quality of osteoarthritis patients in the Rehabilitation Polyclinic of RSUD Langsa. The research uses cross-sectional approach with quantitative correlation design. The samples are 51 osteoarthritis patients, taken by using purposive sampling technique in the Medical Rehabilitation Polyclinic. The joint range of motion is measured by using goniometer while life quality is valued with questionnaire SF-36. The data are analyzed by using Spearman rho correlation test. It is found that 72.5% of the respondents have severe joint range of motion, and 88.2% of the respondents have bad life quality. The result of the research shows that there is positive and significant correlation between joint range of motion and life quality at the coefficient value of Spearman rho correlation test of 0.922 (p>0.001). It is indicated that a better joint range of motion has positive correlation with the increase in life quality in osteoarthritis patients. This finding strengthens the previous literature which states that a limited joint range of motion can worsen patients' physical and psycho-social condition. Therefore, intervention for increasing joint range of motion should be prioritized in osteoarthritis management in order to increase patients' life quality.
