    Abstract
    Background: Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morpholium (Ramat.) Hemsl.) belongs to the family of astereceae and genus Chrysanthenum. Chrysanthemum (Chrysantenum morfolium (Ramat.) Hemsl.) plants contain active compounds in the form of saponins, steroids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, alkaloids, polyphenols and lignin. Chrysanthemum also contains antioxidants that can prevent and slow down damage caused by free radicals by inhibiting oxidative mechanisms. Antioxidants can help protect the body from damage caused by reactive oxygen compounds and other free radicals. Objective: This study aims to identify the antioxidant content in ethanol extract of snow white chrysanthemum flowers (Chrysanthemum morifolium (Ramat.) Hemsl.). Methods: Simplisia of snow white chrysanthemum flowers were first characterized to determine the quality then macerated and made into ethanol extract of snow white chrysanthemum flowers, then analyzed for antioxidant activity by DPPH method using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 515 and using quercetin standard. Results: The results showed there was antioxidant activity in snow white chrysanthemum flowers with IC50 value of snow white chrysanthemum flowers was 241.9774 μg/ml and IC50 value on quercetin standard was 13.9513 μg/ml. Conclusion: The result of IC50 value on ethanol extract of snow white chrysanthemum flower is 241.9774 μg/ml. From the results of the study there is antioxidant compound activity with a weak category in snow white chrysanthemum flowers.
