The Influence of Physical and Non-Physical Work Environment on Employee Productivity (Study at PT Grahadura Leidong Prima North Labuhanbatu Regency)
Abstract
Employee productivity, as it pertains to Human Resources in a company, is
the key to a company's success in facing competition, particularly at PT
Grahadura Leidong Prima. Employee productivity will improve when the work
environment is of adequate quality, both physically and non-physically. However,
researchers have found a decline in employee productivity at PT Grahadura
Leidong Prima, which is attributed to poor air quality and less harmonious
relationships between supervisors and employees within the company.
The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between the variables of
Physical Work Environment and Non-Physical Work Environment with Employee
Productivity at PT Grahadura Leidong Prima. This research also seeks to analyze
the impact of both the Physical and Non-Physical Work Environment on the
phenomenon of declining productivity at the company.
The study was conducted using a quantitative method with an associative
approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 69
employees using the total sampling technique, supported by secondary data such
as various books and previous studies. The data were analyzed using instrument
tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing
as tools for data interpretation.
Results show that Physical and Non-Physical Work Environment have a
significant effect on changes in Employee Productivity variables, with correlation
and influence levels of 84.4% and 70.4%, respectively. The better the physical
work environment, such as the working atmosphere and air temperature, as well
as the non-physical work environment, such as relationships with superiors and
colleagues, the better the productivity of each employee and the company as a
whole, and vice versa.
