Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Tukang Becak Motor Pasca Kenaikan Harga BBM (Studi Kasus Pangkalan Becak Jalan Setia Desa Mulio Rejo, Kecamatan Sunggal)

Abstract

This research aims to determine the socio-economic conditions of motorbike rickshaw drivers after fuel prices rising. The research location is at Motorbike Rickshaw Base on Jalan Setia which is located in Mulyo Rejo village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The main informants in this research consisted of 4 motorbike pedicab drivers at Pangkalan Becak Jalan Setia, Mulyo Rejo Village. The results of the research show that the influence of the increase in fuel prices has an impact on the trip activity of motorbike rickshaw passengers because motorbike rickshaw drivers ask for a higher tariff of IDR. 1000 - IDR. 2000 from the previous tariff. Although not forced, the increase in cost / tariff occurs as a result of increased operational costs required by the motor rickshaw drivers. The increase in fuel prices also had an impact on the economic situation of households, which experienced an increase in expenditure, while the income of motorbike rickshaw drivers did not increase or remained constant.
