dc.description.abstractThis research aims to explain and describe whether there is an influence of TikTok social media on the political knowledge of students at the University of North Sumatra class of 2021. TikTok social media has become an inseparable part of the daily lives of people in Indonesia, even among students. One of the social media that is currently very popular among the public is TikTok. In fact, TikTok is the top 3 most downloaded application in 2022. TikTok social media can have a complex impact on their political knowledge. In this research, researchers used nationalism theory and political behavior theory. This research uses quantitative methods with simple linear regression analysis techniques. With a quantitative approach, using data collection methods in the form of gfrom which was distributed to students at the University of North Sumatra class of 2021. The results of the research show that there is a high relationship of 0.602 between the nationalism variable and the political behavior variable. The influence of the independent variable (nationalism) on the dependent variable (political behavior) is 36.3%. Furthermore, 63.7% of political behavior was influenced by other factors not examined in this research. Testing of the research hypothesis shows that social media TikTok has a significant influence on the political knowledge of students at the University of North Sumatra class of 2021.en_US
