dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence library users’ interest in visiting the Regional Library of Deli Serdang District. This research used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques employed were literature study, questionnaires in the form of structured questions filled out by respondents, and observation. The data used in this research were primarily primary data, which was obtained directly from respondents through questionnaires. Secondary data, such as books, journals, articles, and other documents, was also used as supporting data. The population of this study was all members of the Regional Library of Deli Serdang District, totaling 8,066 individuals. A sample size of 100 people was used, determined by the Slovin formula. The sample consisted of 26 junior high school students, 26 senior high school students, 26 university students, and 22 members of the general public. This research used four indicators: the library location, library facilities and infrastructure, library services, and library promotion. The results showed that of the four indicators, there were two factors affected library users’ interest: the Library Location, with 59.83% of users falling into the moderate category, and Library Promotion, with 54.25% of users also in the moderate category. Additionally, there were two factors that could increase library users’ interest: Library Facilities and Infrastructure, with 74.28% of users in the high category, and Library Services, with 81.75% in the very high category. It can be concluded that the overall interest of library users at the Deli Serdang District Library was high, with 67.52% of users falling into the high category. | en_US |
