Evaluation of the Implementation of the Girl Child Protection Program Sexual Violence by Departement of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Medan City
Abstract
Sexual violence against girls is a serious issue that needs to be addressed comprehensively. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of a protection program for girls against sexual violence conducted by the Office of Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Community Empowerment, Population Control and Family Planning of Medan City (DP3APMP2KB) Medan City. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the research show that DP3APMP2KB Medan City has implemented various programs such as socialization, victim assistance, and training for support personnel. However, the program's implementation still faces several challenges, such as a lack of human resources, limited budget, and low community participation. This research recommends the need for improvements in resource allocation, especially in staff training and facility development. Additionally, it suggests seeking additional funding sources to overcome budget limitations, improving inter-agency coordination by developing a more effective communication system, and organizing programs aimed at eliminating social stigma against victims of sexual violence, as well as providing ongoing psychological and social support for victims and their families.
