    Abstract
This research discusses the Lebah Begantong Malay orchestra performance and the textual meaning of the zapin songs they create. The research aims to explain the concept of the performance they carry out. Incorporating pantun into the song is their main concept. To examine the textual meaning of the Lebah Begantong zapin dance, semiotics is employed. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach. The textual meaning of the Lebah Begantong zapin work and related data will be collected through fieldwork involving interviews, recordings of informants, and laboratory work. To discover the meaning contained in the Lebah Begantong zapin song, analysis is conducted using the semiotic approach proposed by Roland Barthes. Through this theoretical approach, two distinct meanings will be differentiated: connotative and denotative meanings. Singer's opinion is also used to analyze how the music performance is carried out. For the performance, the group continues to adhere to the presenter, players, time, place, and recipient of the message conveyed. Meanwhile, the analysis results of the Lebah Begantong zapin contain cultural expressions in the form of a message to preserve Malay culture while simultaneously enjoying a lively performance. This study also discusses the pattern of pantun and the relationship between Malay music and Malay pantun verses.
