    The Quality of Public Library Services Based on The Perceptions of Male and Female Students Using Libqual at The Archives and Library Office of Karo Regency

    Abstract
    This research aims to determine the perceptions of male and female students regarding the quality of services at the Public Library of the Archives and Library Office of Karo Regency, based on measurements using the LibQUAL method. This study is comparative descriptive research. The population consists of 1,552 individuals, with a sample of 176 students, including 85 male and 91 female students, selected using incidental sampling. The study results show that the library users rate the library services as "satisfactory." In the effect of the Service dimension, male students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 13.9 and a negative Superiority Gap of -2.1. In contrast, female students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 14.7 and a negative Superiority Gap of -2.2. In the Information Control dimension, male students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 13.2 and a negative Superiority Gap of -2.8. In contrast, female students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 12.6 and a negative Superiority Gap of -0.75. For the Library as a Place dimension, male students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 13.9 and a negative Superiority Gap of -1.7. In contrast, female students have a positive Adequacy Gap of 15.9 and a negative Superiority Gap of -0.26. Female students are more satisfied with the quality of library services than male students, although several areas need improvement to meet the ideal user expectations.
