Dampak Literasi Informasi terhadap Perilaku Pencarian Informasi Pemustaka di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kabupaten Asahan

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the impact of information literacy on the information-seeking behaviour of library users at the Library and Archive Service of Asahan Regency. The research uses a causal associative method. The data collection was conducted using documentation and questionnaires. This study utilized normality, heteroscedasticity, and linearity tests. The coefficient of determination, t-test, f-test, and descriptive analysis were performed using SPSS Statistics version 23. The results of this study include the standards of information literacy according to the Association of College and Research Libraries, as well as information-seeking behaviour based on the Wilson model. The findings indicate that information literacy has a positive and significant impact on informationseeking behaviour, with a significance level of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This implies that the higher the information literacy skills of library users, the better the information-seeking behaviour exhibited. The results of the coefficient of determination test reveal that information literacy contributes an influence of 0.209, or 20.9 percent, on the information-seeking behaviour of users at the Library and Archive Service of Asahan Regency, while 79.1 percent is influenced by other variables that were not examined in this study.
