Pelafalan Kosakata Bahasa Mandarin pada Generasi Muda di Kota Kisaran 奇沙兰市年轻人的中文词汇读音 Qíshālán Shì niánqīng Rén de Zhōngwén Cíhuì Dúyīn

Abstract

This research aims to find the form of pronunciation of Mandarin vocabulary spoken by the younger generation in Kisaran and determine the factors of the young generation in Kisaran using pronunciation of vocabulary that does not match the dictionary. The vocabulary studied has pronunciation variants. Pronunciation variants refers to a word (or morpheme) that usually has two or more different pronunciations when expressing the same meaning. The research was conducted using the qualitative research method. The results show that of the sixty vocabulariy words studied, more of these vocabularies were pronounced not according to the dictionary. However, there is also vocabulary that respondents read more according to the dictionary pronunciation, such as the words 脊梁, 嘈杂, 倏忽, 吹毛求疵, 不容置喙, 泾渭分明, and others. The factors that cause the young generation of Kisaran City to use pronunciation of vocabulary that does not match the dictionary are influence by the respondent's learning sources, polyphonic characters, using radicals to guess how to read the vocabulary, and character similarities.
