dc.description.abstract | This study aims to estimation of carbon stocks in Nipah mangrove plants
(Nypa fruticans). This research was conducted in Pante Bayam Village, Madat
District, East Aceh Regency. This exercise was conducted using the comparative
exposé method using a Non-Factorial Randomised Group Design (RAK) with six
replicates. The treatment factors are (U1) age less than four years, (U2) age less
than eight years, (U3) age less than twelve years and (U4) age less than sixteen
years. They calculate biomass content values based on the allometric formula for
Nipah mangrove species and perform laboratory tests for sediment samples at a
depth of 30 cm. The total estimated carbon stock in nipah mangrove is 2,797.17
tons/ha, while for the estimation of carbon stock in sediment, the total value is
16.149 tons/ha. The highest total carbon storage value in nipah mangroves was
17,627 tons/ha at plant age less than sixteen years and the lowest was 10,541
tons/ha at plant age less than eight years with a total carbon storage of 55,958
