Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by blood sugar levels exceeding normal limits (hyperglycemia) due to impaired ability to secrete and produce insulin by the pancreas. Diabetes mellitus is known as a "silent killer" disease. This senior practice was carried out by conducting a study with a number of respondents. This is because many people do not know enough about the dangers of degenerative diseases and there is still a low level of public awareness about getting their health checked. The aim of this senior practicum is to apply the theory and concept of nursing care for clients with diabetes mellitus in Paluh Sibaji Village, Labu Beach, Deli Serdang. From the results of checking the glucose levels of 3 respondents, there was 3 respondent who suffered from diabetes mellitus with a very high examination rate. Therefore, it is necessary to provide education to prevent an increase in degenerative diseases such as diabetes. After the education was carried out, the results showed that the client experienced an increase in knowledge. It is recommended for clients to regularly check their health in an effort to prevent Diabetes Mellitus
