Background: Public services include the quality and accessibility of services provided by government or public institutions to the public. Technological changes and increasing public expectations affect the transformation of public services towards more efficient and effective. The success of public services is often determined by transparency,responsiveness, and the ability to effectively meet public needs and expectations.
Objectives: This study aims to determine and describe efforts to improve the quality of public services in North Sumatra with a study discussion through the Commission E room in the field of community welfare of the North Sumatra DPRD. Commission E has a major influence on improving public services.
Method: The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The sample taken was 182 people.
Results: The results of this study indicate that efforts to improve the quality of public services in North Sumatra with the discussion of studies through the Commission E room in the field of community welfare of the North Sumatra DPRD have gone quite well. Therefore, the North Sumatra DPRD, especially Commission E, continues to make efforts to improve in accordance with community expectations.
Conclusion: At the North Sumatra DPRD, Commission E has the task of supervising agencies in North Sumatra related to public services and regulating budget costs that arise in conducting public services. So Commission E also has a role in making laws and regulations legislation that aims to support and improve public services.
