    Abstract
The implementation of Good Governance in the Credit Union (Koperasi Simpan Pinjam, or KSP) Makmur Artha Sejahtera is crucial for ensuring transparent and accountable financial management. Challenges such as problematic members and low compliance with fee payments require robust governance practices to build trust. This research explores the relationship between Good Governance and member compliance while providing recommendations to enhance cooperative management. By applying sound governance principles, it is expected that the cooperative can increase member compliance and reduce the risk of non-performing loans. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to present data on the implementation of Good Governance at KSP Makmur Artha Sejahtera. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, focusing on understanding how Good Governance improves member compliance. The research was conducted in Medan, chosen due to existing issues in the cooperative's complaint management system. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, and qualitative data analysis was performed using triangulation to ensure the validity of the data. The findings indicate that the implementation of Good Governance at KSP Makmur Artha Sejahtera has had a positive impact on both members and the community. Key governance principles, such as accountability, transparency, participation, efficiency, equality, rule of law, strategic vision, responsiveness, and consensus orientation, form the foundation of the cooperative's operations. However, challenges remain, including governance reliability issues and non-compliance with these principles. To achieve more optimal Good Governance, improvements in human resources and the strengthening of internal governance mechanisms are necessary.
