| dc.description.abstract | Smartphones are an important medium as a means of communication, interaction and entertainment for today's society, especially teenagers. This research aims to see what influence smartphones have on the manners of teenagers in Pulo Brayan Bengkel Village and the steps that must be taken to deal with the negative influence of smartphones.
This research method uses a qualitative approach with data taken from in-depth interviews, observation, literature study and documentation. This study explores the perceptions, experiences, and behaviors of adolescents with smartphone use.
The results of this research show that smartphones have a positive influence, but a greater negative influence on adolescent manners, especially in adolescent behavior in the family, school and peer environment. On the one hand, the use of smart phones can increase a teenager’s productivity in learning. But on the other hand, excessive use of smart phones also causes a decrease in awareness of polite ethics in direct communication This study concludes that although smartphones play an important role in the lives of teenagers, a deeper understanding of their use is needed in order to balance the benefits of technology with good etiquette.
Therefore, preventive steps such as socialization and discussion regarding the importance of limiting the use of smartphones and repressive steps such as limiting the use of smartphones are needed by families, schools and also the government to prevent and overcome the negative influence of smartphones on teenagers' manners. | en_US |
