Pelestarian Kearifan Lokal di Kalangan Anak Muda (Studi Kasus Tarian Tradisional di Desa Denai Lama, Kecamatan Pantai Labu, Kabupaten Deli Serdang)

Abstract

This study is about the preservation of local wisdom among young people through traditional dance, in Denai Lama Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency. Traditional dance art is one type of traditional culture which is a means used to express the sense of beauty of the human soul which is still continuously developed and preserved by the local community itself. Then the art of dance is passed down or inherited continuously from generation to generation, precisely in Denai Lama Village which has traditional Malay dance art which is preserved by young people by forming an art studio called Sanggar Lingkaran. Along with the development of human thought and human life and changes in people's tastes in art, types of dance have emerged which are not only for religious ceremonies, but dance art also functions as entertainment or an expression of beauty. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection is done by interview, observation and documentation. This study aims to see and find out the local wisdom value of traditional dance arts in Denai Lama Village and to find out the efforts of young people in Denai Lama Village in preserving traditional dance arts. The results of this study indicate that there are, (1) local wisdom values in the Malay dance art of Serampang 12 there are three, namely cultural values, social values and religious values. Then the local wisdom values in the Mak Inang Pulau Kampai dance art there are three, namely politeness values, harmony values and cultural preservation values. (2) Traditional dance art is a local culture of the Indonesian nation. Traditional dance art has long existed in Denai Lama Village, the art inherited from previous ancestors must be preserved and passed on to the next generation so that traditional dance art does not disappear from Denai Lama Village, there must be participation from all parties in passing on traditional art culture. Preservation efforts that have been made in traditional dance art are establishing a studio as a forum for teaching traditional dance from various ethnicities, so that young people can love traditional dance art more and not forget it, participating in workshops, creating a festival and performing dance at an event.
