    Abstract
    The purpose of this study was to analyze the strawberry trade in Tongkoh Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency. To examine the trade functions performed in each strawberry trade channel in the study area and to determine the level of efficiency of the strawberry trade channel in the study area. The determination of the research location was done purposively. The sampling method used is the Simple Random Sampling Method. And the sample size is determined by the Slovin formula with a sample size of 47 farmers. The sample size of traders is determined by snowball sampling method where, there are 4 collecting traders, 2 wholesalers and 4 retailers. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis used to analyze the pattern of strawberry trade channels in the study area, the functions performed by each strawberry trade institution, the analysis of trade margins and the analysis of trade efficiency. The results of the study concluded that there are two strawberry trading channels in Tongkoh Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency, namely: Channel I: Farmers - Collectors - Wholesalers – Retailers – Consumers, Channel II: Farmers - Collectors – Retailers – Consumers, Channel III : Farmers – Consumers. In channel I of strawberry trading, collectors obtain a profit margin of Rp 7,090 with a share margin of 12.89%. Wholesalers obtain a profit margin of Rp 7,310 with a share margin of 13.29%, Retailers obtain a profit margin of Rp 7,615 with a share margin of 13.85%. In Channel II, Collectors obtain a profit margin of Rp 7,603 with a share margin of 15.83%. Retailers obtain a profit margin of Rp 8,492 with a share margin of 17.69%. In Channel III, farmers obtain a profit margin of Rp 25,115 with a share margin of 54.60%. The efficiency level of strawberry trading in the Acharya and Aggarwal method of channel I is 1.15, channel II is 1.60 and channel III is 1.67. In this method, the level of trading in channel III is more efficient than the trading in channels I and II. While the level of efficiency with the Shepherd method on channel I is 12.80. Channel II is 17.25 and channel III is 18.29 in this method the level of trading in channel III is more efficient than channels I and II.
