The Influence of Self-regulated Learning on Career Maturity at 11th Grade Senior High School Students in Medan City
Abstract
This study is quantitative research that aims to see the effect of self-regulated
learning and career maturity at 11th grade senior high school students in Medan
City. Self-regulated learning is a learning strategy that involves metacognitive
processes, motivation, and behavior in learning activities to achieve personal
goals. Career maturity is an individual's readiness and ability to make career plans,
self-regulate and explore personal and career potential and be confident in their
career choices. The participants of this study involved grade XI high school
students in Medan city with a total of 202 participants. The instruments used were
the career maturity scale developed by Wulandari, Dewi, & Supriyantini, (2023)
and the self-regulated learning scale from Hasibuan and Rola (2023) research. The
data analysis method used was simple linear regression test with the help of the
IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 application. The
results showed that there was a significant effect of self-regulated learning and
career maturity at 11th grade senior high school students in Medan City (sig. < 0.05,
r = 0.689).
