Monitoring System for Alternator Power Generation Power By Battery And DC Motor Internet of Things (Iot)-Based
Abstract
Battery-powered alternative power plant and DC motor and alternator as a source of
electrical voltage used as charging 12 Volt Battery. This research aims to utilize
technological advances and produce an Internet of Tnings (IoT)-based monitoring
system for alternative power plants. So that monitoring can be done remotely in real time using the SmartEnergy App that has been installed on a smartphone. This
monitoring system uses several supporting components such as NodeMCU ESP8266
and WiFi module, PZEM-004T Sensor to measure voltage and current, Infrared
Sensor to calculate inner rotation (RPM), ACS712 Sensor with ADS1115 Module to
measure current with the help of ADS1115 module to convert analog to digital (ADC).
When the generator rotates, the data will be read by the ACS712 sensor. Input from
the ACS712 sensor is read by the NodeMCU ESP8266 then the data is displayed on
the LCD and also on the SmartEnergy App. Which has the result that with an input of
12.5 Volts and a current of 3.5 Amperes can produce an output of 220 Volts and a
current of 0.18 Amperes. From the experiments carried out, the monitoring process
was carried out via a Smartphone installed with the SmartEnergy App. With this IoT based monitoring system, it is expected to help monitor alternative power plants
remotely in real-time.
