    Abstract
    This research aims to 1) describe the use of Javanese in the community in Bajaronggi Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, 2) describe the attitudes of Javanese speakers in the community in Bajaronggi Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, 3) describe the factors that cause Javanese language shift in the community in Bajaronggi Village, Dolok Stillul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This type of research is quantitative research. The approach used in this research is sociolinguistics according to Fishman (Chear and Agustina). The data collection technique used is a survey method to collect data through the questionnaire that has been provided. The data collected is primary data. The data analysis technique uses statistical methods with quantitative analysis. In analyzing the data, calculations are carried out based on the number of answers entered. From the results of this research, it was found that the use of Javanese in the community in Bajaronggi Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency among the parents group still persists. However, in the group of children, the use of Javanese has begun to shift. The attitude towards Javanese in the parent group is still positive, while the attitude towards Javanese in the child group has started to be negative. The factors that influence language shift are educational factors, economic and social factors, family factors, and neighborhood factors
