Teachers who are engaged in their work have a positive contribution to the quality of education. Previous research found that subjective well-being has a positive role on individual work engagement, but the strength of the relationship between the two is quite diverse. Therefore, grit is considered as a variable that influences the relationship between subjective well-being and work engagement. This study used a correlational quantitative approach with 189 respondents. Data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that subjective well-being has a positive role on teachers' work engagement, with grit strengthening the relationship (r = .589, R2 = .021, F(1,185) = 6.83, p = .010). Similar results were also found after considering demographic factors (r = .622, R² = .338, F(14,174) = 7.85, p = .011). In addition, this study also found that subjective well-being (r = .521, R2 = .268, F(1,187) = 69.66, p < .001) and grit (r = .569, R2 = .316, F(2,186) = 44.45, p < .001) play a positive role in teacher work engagement.en_US
