    Abstract
This thesis is motivated by the Black Lives Matter Social Movement in the United States. The Black Lives Matter movement is motivated by racist actions carried out by several individuals. This movement focuses on protesting racist actions and demanding policies made by the government to suppress racist actions. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) socio-political movement in responding to the issue of racism in the United States. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely research that aims to present facts or events systematically and accurately and analyze their truth based on the data obtained. The data collection technique in this study is literature study research. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it proves that the Black Lives Matter Movement has a strategic role in supporting efforts to suppress acts of racism carried out by several individuals in the United States. BLM is not only a symbol of resistance against racial discrimination, but also encourages socio-political change by raising global public awareness of the issue of structural racism. In addition, this movement shows how social media plays an important role in mass mobilization and the spread of social justice messages. This study concludes that BLM has succeeded in challenging an unfair system of power and has had a significant impact on public policy in the United States. This movement also opens up space for a broader discourse on racism and racial equality in various countries.
