    Abstract
Tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) are horticultural crop that often suffer yield losses due to the root-knot nematode attacks. This study aims to determine the ability of nematophagous fungi (Paecilomyces fumosoroseus) and nitrogen-fixing bacteria (Azotobacter sp.) in the control Meloidogyne hapla on tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.). This research was conducted in vitro to determine the fungu’s ability in suppress non-pathogenic nematodes and in vivo to observe the fungal and bacterial isolates in controlling Meloidogyne hapla on tomato plants. The in vivo experiment was carried on with 7 treatments: Control Zero (K0), Negative Control (K-), Positive Control (KN), KBF treatment, J, B, and J+B with four replication and using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) experimental design. The growth of the tomato plants were observed included root length, root weight, stem length, and stem weight as growth factor parameter. In vitro test showed that the Paecilomyces fumosoroseus isolate is capable in reduce the nematode population by 85% after 72 hours. Bioassay test proof that the combination treatment between P. fumosoroseus and Azotobacter sp. (J+B) reduce number of root galls on tomato plants. The highest stem length, fresh and dry stem weight, root length, fresh and dry root weight were shown by J+B treatment plants. It is proved J+B treatment potential to be used as an environmentally friendly alternative for nematode control compared with the carbofuran (KBF).
