    Abstract
    This thesis aims to determine the potential of livestock resources, area and carrying capacity of ruminant livestock in the Buffer Zone area of Gunung Leuser National Park in Bahorok District. This research was carried out in March – May 2023 using census research methods in villages in Bahorok District. Sampling was taken in order to obtain data and information related to breeder profiles related to livestock potential in Bahorok District, and sampling used the Slovin formula for 100 respondents. Data analysis uses Descriptive Analysis, LQ, Livestock Density, IKP, Agriculture and Plantation DDL, Agriculture and Plantation IDDL, and KPTTR. Based on the results, Bahorok District has the potential to develop large ruminant livestock, there are 7 villages in the base area for ruminant livestock. Overall agricultural waste production in Bahorok District with fresh material was 9,420.65 tonnes, BK 2,307.38 tonnes, PK 174.51 tonnes and TDN 993.42 tonnes. Production of plantation waste with BK 54,636.44 tons, PK 7,177.96 tons, and TDN 104,334.15 tons. DDLP agricultural waste based on BK can accommodate 769.11 ST, PK 727.15 ST and TDN 632.75 ST. DDLP and the small KPPTR in Bahorok District is 20,176.50 ST.plantation waste based on BK can accommodate 18,212.15 ST, PK 29,908.18 ST and TDN 66,454.87 ST. The large KPPTR in Bahorok District is 13,181.00 ST
