dc.description.abstractThis study aims to determine the effect of gratitude on happiness among flat residents Amplas Medan. Gratitude is essential for everyone to experience happiness, especially in communities with lower socio-economic levels, such as the residents of Rusunawa. People who practice gratitude can change their perspective and find meaning in life, even in unpleasant situations. This research uses a quantitative research method, involving 79 respondents who are residents of Rusunawa Amplas Medan. The sampling technique employed in this study is saturated sampling. Data collection methods included the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), and the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6). The analysis method used in this research is simple linear regression. The results show that gratitude has a positive influence on happiness. Gratitude contributes 26% to happiness, while 74% of the influence comes from other variables not examined in this study. The majority of the subjects in this study were categorized as happy and very grateful. The additional findings of this study revealed that the male group feels happier than the female group. Residents who have lived longer (more than 10 years) in Flat Amplas feel happier compared to those who have recently occupied Flat Amplas.en_US
