dc.description.abstract | PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Tobasari Unit is an agro-industrial business unit
engaged in the tea processing business. Work carried out without paying attention
to the health and safety of workers can affect worker productivity. Worker health
and safety problems can include Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are conditions where there are complaints about
the skeletal muscles experienced by workers. PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV
Tobasari Unit has a rolling station, where at this station workers transport tea
powder that has been rolled on the OTR (Open Top Roller) machine then to the BIN
machine using a trolley. The transportation equipment in the form of a trolley used
has dimensions that are too short or not ergonomically designed. Based on the
results of initial observations and interviews, it was discovered that a number of 8
operators transporting tea powder experienced complaints of back pain and
lumbago. The aim of this research is to provide suggestions for improving the design
of trolleys transporting tea powder at the rolling station at PT Perkebunan
Nusantara IV Tobasari Unit in minimizing risks and complaints of Musculoskeletal
Disorders (MSDs) as well as improving the quality of equipment using the
Ergonomic Function Deployment (EFD) method. Based on determining repair
priorities using the ergonomic function deployment (EFD) method and calculating
the operator's anthropometric data at PTPN IV Tobasari Tea Garden, design
attributes were obtained, such as adding a push handle, increasing the height of the
trolley using the operator's anthropometric data, adjusting the dimensions of the
trolley tank with the existing trolley. raised, the number of trolley wheels is
increased and the diameter of the trolley wheels is increased, the trolley material is
corrosion resistant and resistant to load pressure, the shape of the trolley tub is
designed with obtuse angles that are easy to clean, the trolley handle has a rubber
coating added, the trolley has a steering wheel added. | en_US |
