    Abstract
The increasing demand for soybeans results in the need for additional supporting technology. One way to increase production is fertilization. Soybeans, the host plant for Bradyrhizobium japonicum, can fix nitrogen gas (N2) for their host's needs. This research was conducted in Paya Rengas Village, Hinai District, Langkat Regency, aiming to examine the use of nitrogen fertilizer, the presence of root nodules, and soybean production from April to June 2024. The method used was a survey that took quantitative and qualitative data using questionnaires and a soil sampling total sample of 30 farmers/soil sample. The results of the research showed that the use of N source fertilizer in Paya Rengas Village for soybean plants ranged from 0 kg/ha to > 75 kg/ha, as many as 10 farmers (33.3%) did not supply N form fertilizer to their soybean plants, 1 farmer ( 3.3%) used fertilizer with dosage >0-25 kg/ha, 4 farmers (13.4%) used N source fertilizer >25-50 kg/ha, 3 farmers (10.0%) used source fertilizer N was >50-75 kg/ha and 12 farmers or (40.0%) used > 75 kg/ha fertilizer. Soybean production in Paya Rengas Village found 3 farmer land (10.0%) produced < 800 kg/ha, 14 farmers land (46.6%) produced 800-1200 kg/ha soybeans, 11 farmers land (36, 7%) produced 1201-1600 kg/ha of soybeans and 2 farmers land (6.7%) created 1601-2000 kg/ha of soybeans. The average farmer's soybean production was 1125.53 kg/ha.
