    Abstract
Effective infrastructure development ia a crucial effort in addressing urban flooding, including in Medan Selayang District, Medan City. This district frequently experiences flooding due to factors such as high rainfall, inadequate drainage, and land-use changes that reduce water absorption capacity. This study aims to analize the implementation of infrastructure development in flood management in Medan Selayang District. The method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with relevent stakeholders and documentation studies related to flood infrastructure projects that have been implemented. the result of the study indicate that infrastructure development, such as drainage improvement, retention pond construction, and river normalization, has positively imapcted reducing the frequency and intensity of flooding in the area. However, challengers remain in inter-agency coordination, limited budget management, and community awareness in maintaing environmental cleanliness. Therefore, increased community participation and continuous infrastructure management improvements are needed to achieve more effective and sustainable flood management. This research is expected to provide input for more integrated infrastructure development policies in addresing the impacts of climate change and rapid urbanization.
